By Tulrush Jake out of Suckfield Bay Miss, he is registered with the Irish Sport Horse Studbook and was imported from Ireland earlier this year, having passed a full five-stage vetting. He is fit, sound and up to date with vaccinations, dentistry, farrier and worming. Drag hunting is where Rolo truly excels. Having hunted a full season in Ireland, he is bold, genuine and incredibly sensible across all types of country. He happily tackles hedges, ditches, water, steps and varied terrain, remains light and rideable in a snaffle, and never gets strong or silly. He absolutely loves his job and has the brain, stamina and honesty to make an outstanding drag hunter for someone wanting a fun, reliable horse to enjoy a day's hunting. He is currently back out hound exercise here in the UK getting ready for the season ahead. Away from the hunting field, Rolo has also competed successfully at Riding Club events, Combined Training and the Cotswold Cup. He is still green in the Flatwork due to not doing much of this but is proving to give all he can into progressing. He is confidently schooling BE90/100 fences XC, showing plenty of scope and carefulness, making him equally capable as a quality all-rounder. He hacks alone or in company, is excellent in traffic and open spaces, and is easy to catch, load, travel, clip, shoe and handle. He has impeccable manners, and his kind temperament means my six-year-old daughter regularly leads and grooms him.
