A serious hunting mare with masses of scope, quality and heart exceptionally bold, genuine and utterly loves her job. Whisper has an impressive and varied CV, having attended riding club clinics, hunter trials, dressage and showjumping competitions. She approaches everything with enthusiasm and a brilliant attitude, and is the type of mare who genuinely enjoys being out and doing a job. She has successfully hunted in both Ireland and the UK and we have absolutely no doubt she will continue to excel on the hunting field with her new owner. A proper weight-carrying Irish Draught mare with exceptional bone, conformation and quality. She is mannerly under saddle, knows her job and gives her rider a wonderful feeling. Although we have not personally hunted her in hunt service, we believe she has all the attributes to make a superb huntsman’s or Master’s horse in the right hands. And make no mistake — this mare can jump! She has masses of scope, loves her cross-country and is incredibly bold. If her rider asks her to step up, she will dig deep and give you everything she has. Whisper is forward-going without being strong, silly or sharp. She has that wonderful sensible Irish Draught brain and has also been ridden by novice riders, taking excellent care of them. She is also a real family type and has been absolutely fabulous around the small children we have on the yard. She is sensible around everyday farm life, including farm machinery and livestock, and generally takes everything in her stride. She hacks sensibly alone or in company, rides and leads, and is a lovely comfortable, leg-in-each-corner ride. She has no stable vices and has never put a hoof wrong with us during the seven months we have known her. She is excellent to load and travel and good with the farrier. Whisper passed a thorough pre-purchase examination in February this year and has given us no cause for concern during her time with us. She really is a tough, genuine little warrior princess with a wonderful temperament. 🤍 Horses like Whisper are becoming increasingly difficult to find — genuine, capable, weight-carrying horses that can hunt, jump, hack, be part of family life and turn their hoof to virtually anything. Her home is extremely important to us. She is open to any vet or trainer, and we are very happy for serious prospective purchasers to carry out whatever checks they feel appropriate. However, we will not accommodate joy riders or endless speculative viewings.
