Live in Groom Sought Dorset - attractive package

Friendly family Hunting Yard in Dorset are looking for an experienced live-in groom. It is a well-kept yard which will have two smart hunt horses & 2 ponies to look after. Looking for someone reliable and self-motivated who takes genuine pride in their horses and enjoys their work. Please note we are still in the process of sourcing some horses so there is an element of helping setting up a recently refurbished stable. Your own horse is welcome and hunting is expected.

Duties will include: • Daily care of two horses & two ponies: mucking out, feeding and grooming • Exercising, including hacking and lunging • Turnout, clipping and plaiting to a high standard • Maintaining tidy yards, tack and equipment • Assisting on hunt days throughout the season, including early starts, loading, second horses, turnout and after-care

The ideal person will: • Have proven experience with hunters or fit competition horses • Be calm, confident and competent handling horses • Be hardworking and reliable, able to work independently • Understand the demands of hunting, including longer days in the season • Flexibility to support on weekends and school holidays • Hold a full UK driving licence.
