Champie has been a fantastic family horse for our 3 girls, who are moving on to the next stages of their lives, so she is now hardly used and we feel she is still so much more than an occasional hack when they are back from university. We have owned her for 6 years, during which time we’ve had great fun doing Cotswold Cup, Pony Club camp and area competitions, along with loads of fun rides, lessons and clinics. She’s qualified twice for the Cotswold Cup Championships at 90cm. She loves cross country and has been team chasing with us which she enjoyed and would love to do more! Does not hack on her own. If this is a problem she’s not for you. Great to hack in company. She is good to shoe, box, clip and catch and load / travel. For sale with tack (including Amerigo saddle which has been regularly checked by a Master saddler– last check May 2026). Up to date with vaccines, teeth, worm egg counts etc. Like most 13 year old horses she does have some vet history. In 2023 she kept going disunited in canter after a slip in the trailer. We eventually sent her for a bone scan and she has some evidence of wear and tear in her back (not kissing spines –inflammation in some of the joints and an area of spondylosis). This hasn’t ever made her unrideable, but it has limited her scope and quality of her flatwork. We have medicated her back and that helped a bit, but the main thing is we understand her limitations and have worked within that. Hence, we did not event her above 90cm. She was last medicated in March 2025. This is reflected in the price that we are asking for her. The right home is essential as she is a big part of our family and we’d like her to go somewhere where she is loved as a family horse.
