Jurgen is the kind of horse that’s genuinely becoming hard to find — a modern, beautiful type with an exceptional brain to match. Naturally balanced, athletic, and straightforward, he has a kind, honest nature that makes him as enjoyable on the ground as he is under saddle. He has been trained extensively by a Grand Prix dressage rider and produced carefully to Advanced Medium level at home. Three correct, ground-covering paces, well-established lateral work, clean changes, and excellent adjustability within the gait. He learns quickly, is genuinely willing, and has the kind of quiet intelligence that makes training feel like a conversation rather than a battle. Jurgen won at his very first dressage show — completely unfazed by the environment. He’s not sharp, not spooky, and not difficult. Currently worked just three days a week, he remains focused, settled, and rideable every time. He is brave with fillers, unbothered by farm machinery, and straightforward to manage. Although jumping has taken a back seat in recent years, his natural ability and early education are very much still there. His flatwork quality has only added to this — he’s rhythmic, adjustable between fences, comfortable moving up or down the canter, and jumps well from pace. With the right rider, he has genuine scope for 1.30m+ showjumping, while also being a strong contender for a competitive dressage or all-round competition home. On the ground, he’s friendly, affectionate, and easy in every way — the type that bonds with his people and genuinely enjoys being part of life. One thing to mention honestly: Jurgen can show a mild headshake on occasion, easily managed with a nose net. This has been fully investigated, and I’m very happy to discuss it openly with serious enquiries.
