Naturally balanced, athletic and straightforward, he has a kind, honest nature that makes him as enjoyable on the ground as he is under saddle. He’s been trained extensively by a Grand Prix dressage rider and produced carefully to Advanced Medium at home — three correct, ground-covering paces, well-established lateral work, clean changes and excellent adjustability within the gait. He learns quickly and is genuinely willing, with a quiet intelligence that makes training feel like a conversation rather than a battle. He won at his very first dressage show, completely unfazed by the environment. He’s not sharp, not spooky and not difficult. Currently worked just three days a week, he stays focused, settled and rideable every time — brave with fillers, unbothered by farm machinery and straightforward to manage. Jumping has taken a back seat in recent years, but his natural ability and early education are very much still there, and his flatwork has only added to it: rhythmic, adjustable between fences and jumps well from pace. With the right rider he has genuine scope for 1.30m+ showjumping, while equally being a strong contender for a competitive dressage or all-round home. The only thing Jurgen is missing is competition mileage — and that’s purely down to my time, not him. He’s fit, well and ready to go for someone with the diary to bring him out properly. One thing to mention honestly: he can show a mild headshake on occasion, easily managed with a nose net.
