Effy has sadly been outgrown, so she is now looking for her next forever home. Since being with us she has turned her hoof to everything including hunting, showjumping, eventing and dressage, taking it all in her stride and proving herself to be a talented, versatile mare. She is a careful and genuine show jumper, happily competing at 90/100cm where she is consistently in the ribbons. On the flat she produces a lovely dressage test, competing at novice level with three established paces. Cross-country is where she really comes alive and she absolutely loves it, having competed in numerous local hunter trials and unaffiliated ODEs while schooling confidently around courses up to 110cm, happily jumping anything you point her at. She also has a successful British Eventing record from a previous home, consistently producing double clear rounds. Effy has hunted for two full seasons, including leading a child on the lead rein for part of one season, and will happily jump any hedge or country she is asked. She has also competed in local inter-hunt relays at county shows, always keeping a level head and behaving impeccably. She is always ridden in a snaffle. Out hacking she is a pleasure, completely unfazed by pigs, donkeys, cows, sheep or ponies, excellent in traffic and around agricultural machinery, and is equally happy alone or in company. She loves fun rides, will lead unbacked horses from her, and has attended large stay-away shows where she has always behaved impeccably. She is an incredibly genuine and safe mare who looks after less experienced riders but is equally happy to step up a gear for someone more capable. She has schooled up to 120cm at home and has plenty of scope, making her an ideal ladies' hunter, Riding Club horse or a fantastic step-up for a teenager coming off ponies. She is happy living out 24/7 or being stabled, happy in individual or group turnout, and is good to clip, shoe, load and travel, loading onto both trailers and lorries. She is easy to handle on the ground, although she has been seen to weave in the stable before feed times. She is up to date with vaccinations, teeth, physio and worming, and is open to any vetting. No complete novices or timewasters please, as she thrives on an active lifestyle and we would love to see her continue enjoying jumping, hunting and getting out and about rather than spending every day in the school.
