Heartbreaking sale of a much loved horse, Stilts has been with us for 5 years, with only one home previous to us. Very sadly and unexpectedly my daughter has decided it’s time for him to find a new home, to go and give someone else as much fun as we have had with him over the years. Stilts is a smart, talented little horse with a very quirky but loveable personality, he is a true school master, looks after his rider, knows his job inside and out, whether hacking, on the hunting field, eventing or show jumping, Stilts does it all. He has given us immeasurable pleasure over 5 years, we have competed up and down the Country but obviously the highlight of our time with him was qualifying for Badminton Grassroots BE100 2025, after coming 3rd at Blair International Horse Trials 2024. This year at Scone Palace he finished 6th place in the Scottish Championship Class BE100. My daughter was lucky enough to be selected and compete for Scotland in the under 18’s BE100 class at Bishop Burton 2024, where the team came 2nd. He has competed successfully in NSEA competitions, NSEA Championships, Nations Cup Team, Arena Eventing, Show Jumping, always in the placings. Stilts is very bold at Cross Country, skinnies, ditches, coffins, all types of fillers, nothing phases this little horse, infact my daughter had full vision of taking him to the Golden Button next year but sadly her work commitments have increased and she is needing more time to train and school her Pointer for the 2025/26 season. Excellent to shoe, clip, load, box, travel and wash etc… up to date with vaccinations, back and teeth. No vices. Now for the true description of this super horse, he has very mild string halt which hasn’t caused us any problems and if anything makes his dressage look very flashy. He also had a field accident when we first got him which has left him with a scarring on his leg all details will be discussed and given but this hasn’t stopped him getting to Badminton. Stilts needs stabled in the winter, he’s is out 24/7 in the summer months but struggles in the winter and doesn’t cope with the cold. He would be very happy if he was to stay in all day every day. Stilts doesn’t need ridden every day, he can be picked up and put down, happy with an hour turn out or a brief stroll when stabled. Stilts does need to see a companion in the field, not bothered in the stable at all, but when out on pasture he settles better with a friend. Stilts is phenomenal on the trail hunting field and has been known to lead the field over fences, is always up front with the field-master, never refuses a fence however he has a tendency to get excited at the meet, and does small bunny bucks whilst waiting but never tries to unseat his rider. My daughter absolutely adores this habit and sits on him laughing. We have numerous videos and photos available on request of this horse. We are definitely looking for a special home for him, someone who will embrace his quirks, and give him all the time he deserves. He will make someone a really wonderful best friend. A grass roots Eventing School Master at 100 but will show jump up 110cm.
