Description
Super Chunky Irish TB who is the most reliable, steady and willing family horse. Hes the sort thats hard to find!
Tentatively offering my v chunky TB to only the perfect home.
16.2hh Gelding, Bright Bay, 7yo.
So chunky he looks like an ISH
Raced twice and both times basically didn’t start as he cant be bothered…
He is VERY quiet, super duper chill in any environment. Great brain.
Since having him we have:
Hacked for hours, anywhere over any terrain with no company and in big groups. Hes fantastic and cool in any scenario- would make a great endurance horse!
Hes nannied my beginner daughter on her pony both on and off LR, in all gaits and including out hunting
He’s hunted perfectly- will give you a lovely quiet and relaxed day- even at the biggest meets like Boxing Day. Middle or at the back he doesn’t care. Happily leaves the others to come home early and will wait behind if they go off. Will do gates and can get on and off from the ground no bother. Has led novice children and nannies newbies. He isnt the biggest jumping horse but he’ll do the smaller fences no bother.
Hes just qualified for Hickstead Ridden ROR finals in 2027
2nd in his last ODE (70cm).
Hes a proper family horse; big personality- like a Labrador! Loves the children and his human family… probably more than other horses-My 10 year old non riding son and 65 year old mum will hop on for a plod round the lanes!
Lessons, clinics, RC- he has done it all and instructors love him.
Schooling- he will do it. He really doesn’t love it. He’s scoring around 70% at intro and 64% at prelim.
I bought him after a long break from horses to nanny out my daughter on her pony. He’s been absolutely fantastic but as Ive got back into it i really do want to go eventing and jump bigger tracks again and his heart isn’t in it. He finds flat work hard and boring.
I have done everything for this horse to check his reluctance to school is not pain related- we have worked closely with vets, osteo and farrier and there is absolutely no reason why… he just doesn’t find joy in doing circles. For this reason he technically has “vet history” as we injected his hocks and SI as a “clinical trial” to see if it helped him. Happy to talk more about it but he wont need maintenance in this area to do a lower job- I was just hoping it might give me more to push him up a level. At least you know its all been checked for you!
His work ethic and mentality just is in the slower lane and I’m gradually reaching the conclusion that maybe we are no longer the right match and he could bring so much joy to someone- I cant rave about him enough.
I’m looking for a family home for him or a rider who wants the same things as him! Hacking, steady days, chilling together, low level RC, maybe some showing and generally just be his best friend.
He’s fit, sound, in great condition and got fantastic comments from the judges showing just last weekend. No vices, good to do everything with. Travels in trailer and easy enough to take out on his own etc. Phone full of videos and pictures.
Much loved horse and well looked after- no expense has been spared and he will only go to the right home.
