Total gentleman

Victor – 7yo gelding | approx. 16.1hh | by Conduit | RoR eligible Victor ran his final race in July 2025 and has been with me for a while now, having arrived from Ireland with his mate. He was broken in by his trainer and has been produced absolutely beautifully from day one. He was started correctly, ridden properly and given a really good education, and that foundation shines through now he is embarking on his second career. He is quite simply an absolute gentleman. On the ground he is kind, gentle and lovely to handle. Under saddle he is a fabulous ride who takes everything in his stride, tries his heart out and genuinely hasn’t put a foot wrong since he arrived. He is the sort of horse who will absolutely thrive in a one-to-one home, soaking up every ounce of love, fuss and attention you can throw at him. Victor recently attended RoR Midlands Camp, where he was absolutely impeccable. He took part in baby showjumping lessons, pole work and dressage, and had his first experience of the 80-acre cross-country course. He splashed through the water, happily gave leads to other young horses and generally showed everyone what a sensible, willing and uncomplicated chap he is. He hacks alone and in company. He is not nappy, but he hasn’t done a huge amount of solo hacking yet and still needs his hand held a little when he’s out by himself. He simply needs someone happy to continue building his confidence and education. Full disclosure regarding his racing history: during his final race Victor strained both front tendons, which have consequently left him with very slight bows. He has completed his full rehabilitation, had plenty of time off and is now back in full work and head off on hound exercise shorlty. His trainer could have brought him back to race again, but absolutely adored this horse and made the decision that he deserved to retire and enjoy a life beyond racing instead. I am very happy to discuss his history and rehabilitation properly with anyone who is seriously interested. Victor is a darling of a horse and, as with all of mine, he will only leave for the very best home. I would love to see him find someone who wants a best friend as much as they want a riding horse – someone who will continue his education, have adventures with him and absolutely adore him. Serious enquiries only, please. If you genuinely think you could offer Victor the home I’m looking for, please pick up the phone and call me directly. 07915 908 328 References will be required and prospective homes will be vetted. This one is going to be very, very hard to say goodbye to.
