Allrounder Gelding

16.3 12 year old Irish sport horse gelding. An easy to do all round riding club, hunting, competition horse.

Black Hill Gunner 16.3 12 years ISH gelding. Gunner has been in the same home for the last 5 years. He has a varied CV making him a good allrounder. Successfully competed in Dressage to prelim. Show jumping, XC, arena eventing, camps, ODE’s, funrides and hunting. To hack out Gunner is bombproof in all traffic and happily hacks alone and in company, happy to be on the buckle or step it up and take the lead. He’s snaffle mouthed. Has great manners on the ground and loves a fuss, he’s a BFG! He’s good to catch, clip and shoe. Gunner is a very straightforward ride and most of the time a laid back boy but can be keen in exciting scenarios, for example hunting he likes to be upfront (can do an excited buck if held behind at the back) and also at busy XC clinics he tends to liven up. He has absolutely no malice in him just enjoys the buzz of XC and hunting but still just goes in a snaffle. However at competitions he remains his usual chilled self. For this reason he isn’t for a total novice but my 8 year niece has ridden him and he’s been saint. He would bring on and show the ropes to a confident less experienced rider or continue being a competitive riding club horse. He has a small sarcoid on his chest which has been there a while and not changed or needed treatment. He has no vices or medical issues other than sarcoid. This is a heartbreaking sale for his owner so a fabulous home is priority for this lovely chap. He’s a big horse, can have the odd spook and does better in a routine over the winter as does get fresh if stabled lots with no turnouts/work. Currently owned and ridden by a petite (5’2) rider so would suit someone smaller or taller. He comes with his fitted saddle and bridle. He’s open to any vetting.
