A lovely sweet natured gentleman both on the ground and under saddle.

Cali is an exceptionally kind, genuine gelding with the loveliest temperament. He was given plenty of time to grow and mature and was backed as a 6‑year‑old, which shows in how sensible and straightforward he is today. He is by the stallion Millfield Cascade (Berlin / Casini / Capitol), out of an ISH × WB mare (Maximilliam Mali / Voltaire), giving him quality and a naturally trainable brain. Cali is snaffle‑mouthed, never strong, and an absolute pleasure to ride. He hacks alone or in company, goes to the beach, and never gets silly or sharp. This year he has started more focused flatwork and is proving very willing, steady and easy to educate. He has just completed his first ever competition, a dressage outing, where he behaved impeccably and won his class. He took everything in his stride, showing how level‑headed and genuine he is away from home. He is equally easy in new environments. I recently took him to stay overnight at a friend’s yard, and he settled immediately — no fuss, no stress. We went on a fell ride the next day and he was brilliant: sensible, forward, and unfazed by the open spaces. We have recently introduced jumping, and Cali has taken to it brilliantly. He is brave, doesn’t rush to a fence, and isn’t bothered by fillers or spooky fences. He has also been XC schooling, which he absolutely loved. Cali is a lightweight gelding and would suit a lightweight rider. He would make a wonderful mother–daughter share or a safe, confidence‑giving horse for a teenager stepping up from ponies. Although he is very easy, kind and sensible, he wouldn’t be suitable for a complete novice, as he still has plenty to learn and will benefit from someone who can continue his education. He has clean limbs, no vices, and is good to load, shoe, clip and travel. We are fully open to vettings. The only reason for sale is lack of time and other commitments. He is a much‑loved horse, and we are looking for a forever home for this special boy. He deserves a person of his own who will enjoy his sweet nature and continue bringing out the best in him.
